IslandCue: Eye-Lock Prompter — Privacy Policy
Luis Enrique Lopez, doing business as Zepol AI · Last updated: October 28, 2026

THE SHORT VERSION: IslandCue collects nothing. Your scripts, your voice and your videos never leave your iPhone. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. We could not see your content even if we wanted to, because the app has no way to send it anywhere.

1. Who We Are

IslandCue is an iPhone teleprompter and camera app published by Luis Enrique Lopez, doing business as Zepol AI (“Zepol AI”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains exactly what the app touches on your device and why. It applies to IslandCue version 1.0 and later.

2. Everything Is Processed on Your Device

Camera
Used only to show the live preview and to record the video you ask it to record. The frames are encoded on your iPhone and written to a file on your iPhone. The app asks for permission the first time you open it.
Microphone
Used for two things at once: recording the audio track of your video, and following your voice so the script scrolls at your pace. It is the same single microphone stream, never a second recording.
Speech Recognition
Two features listen to you: Voice-Sync, which follows the word you are saying so the script scrolls at your pace, and Dictate, which turns what you say into the text of a new script. Both use Apple's on-device speech recognition through the same engine, and IslandCue sets requiresOnDeviceRecognition = true for it, which means recognition runs on the iPhone's own neural engine and your audio is never sent to our servers, to Apple or to anyone else. If your language has no on-device model installed, IslandCue switches Voice-Sync off and falls back to a timed scroll, and Dictate reports that it is unavailable — the app will never send your audio to a server instead. That is a hard rule in the code, not a preference.
Scripts
Everything you write is stored in a private database inside the app's own container on your iPhone (Apple's SwiftData). There is no copy on our servers or on anyone else's, no backup to us and no sync service. The only copy that can exist outside the app is the one your own iPhone makes if you keep the standard iOS or iCloud device backup turned on — that backup is yours and Apple's, and we never see it.
Photo Library
Requested with “add only” access, which lets IslandCue save a finished take to your own Photos app. The app cannot browse, read or delete anything that is already in your library. Your recorded videos go to your own local Photo Library and nowhere else.

3. What Else Is Stored, and Where

Your reading preferences — font size, glass opacity, speaking pace, accent color, recording length, app language — and the names of the folders you create to organize your scripts are stored in the app's own preferences on the same device. IslandCue also keeps a simple count of how many takes you have saved, used only to decide when to ask you once for an App Store review. Recorded video is written to a temporary file on your iPhone while you record, shown to you for review, and saved to your Photo Library only when you tap Save. Nothing is uploaded at any point.

4. What We Collect: Nothing — and What We Specifically Do Not Do

IslandCue's own code makes no network requests of its own: there is no server, no API and no network layer in the app. The only network traffic made on its behalf is Apple's StoreKit framework talking to Apple about IslandCue Pro products and purchases, exactly as section 7 explains. So that nothing is left to inference, IslandCue also contains none of the following:

  • ■No session recording and no session replay. The app does not record, reconstruct or transmit your screen, your taps, your gestures or your navigation.
  • ■No keylogging and no keystroke capture. What you type into a script is written to the local database and read by the teleprompter. It is not intercepted, logged or analyzed.
  • ■No third-party analytics, attribution, advertising, A/B testing or crash-reporting SDKs. The app embeds no third-party libraries at all — it is built entirely on Apple's own frameworks.
  • ■No remote fonts. All typography is the system's own (SF Pro / SF Pro Rounded / SF Mono, provided by iOS). No typeface, stylesheet, script or asset is fetched from an external server, so no external server ever sees your IP address because of us.
  • ■No web views, no embedded browser, no cookies, no local or third-party storage beacons.
  • ■No device fingerprinting, no advertising identifier (IDFA), no App Tracking Transparency prompt — because there is nothing to track.

This also means that, under the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA) and comparable wiretapping statutes, IslandCue intercepts no communication and enables no third party to do so: there is no third party present in the app.

App Store analytics. If you have chosen in iOS Settings (Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share With App Developers) to share analytics with developers, Apple may make aggregated, anonymized usage and crash statistics about IslandCue available to us through App Store Connect. Those statistics cannot identify you, and we cannot identify anyone from them. Turning that setting off stops it; it is Apple's setting, not ours.

5. Your Rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA-CPRA)

We do not act as a controller or a processor of your personal data, because we receive none. There is no transfer of personal data to us, no international transfer, no profiling and no automated decision-making. We do not sell or share personal information, and we have never done so.

To the extent the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA apply to us, the rights they give you are met structurally rather than by request: your scripts, settings and recordings are in your hands, on your device. You can read them, change them, export them (a video saved to Photos is yours to share) and erase them at any time without asking us, because we hold no copy to access, correct, port or delete. If you want written confirmation of that for your own records, write to us at support@zepol.ai.

Do Not Track. We do not track anyone, inside or outside the app, and no other party collects personal information through IslandCue. There is therefore nothing a “Do Not Track” signal from your browser or device would change: the app already behaves as if that signal were always on.

California residents. To the extent the CCPA/CPRA applies to us: we do not sell or share personal information, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months; we do not collect sensitive personal information; and we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes (California's “Shine the Light” law). Because we hold no personal information, there is nothing for us to access, delete or correct in response to a request, and we will never treat you differently for making one. You can still write to support@zepol.ai and we will confirm this in writing.

6. Children (COPPA)

IslandCue does not create user accounts and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age — including children under 13. There is no sign-up, no profile, no email capture, no contact form inside the app and no behavioral advertising, so none of the data categories the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act governs are ever collected.

Purchases made on a device used by a child remain subject to Apple's own parental controls: Ask to Buy, Family Sharing and Screen Time restrictions are configured in iOS Settings and enforced by Apple before any charge is made. We never see who made a purchase.

7. Purchases

IslandCue Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system using StoreKit 2. Apple processes the payment and tells the app only whether a valid purchase is active. We never see your name, your payment method or your Apple Account. Apple's own privacy policy governs that transaction.

8. Your Control

You can delete any script inside the app at any time. Deleting IslandCue from your iPhone removes every script, preference and temporary file the app created. Videos you chose to save stay in your Photo Library, where they belong to you — delete them from Photos if you no longer want them.

9. Changes to This Policy

If a future version of IslandCue ever changes what it accesses, this document will be updated in the app before that version ships, and the “last updated” date above will change. The app's privacy manifest declares zero collected data types and no tracking, and that declaration is accurate as of this version.
